Blood Drive

Generally held on a Saturday in March, this annual event was initiated by one of our Senior Girl Scouts as her Gold Award project, and it is now an on-going community service project for Chappaqua Girl Scouts. Adult residents of Chappaqua (including troop leaders and parents) are asked to donate blood, and Girl Scouts assist in a variety of roles.  Older girls may be able to provide babysitting services or serve refreshments on the day of the Drive; younger girls may be able to bake refreshments or make "thank you" pins for donors.

A word of advice from an experienced Girl scout leader and a regular blood donor: "Have a steak, or a dinner high in iron, the night before donating!"
