Community Camping is an annual weekend event for all Chappaqua Girl Scouts. Usually, Daisies and young Brownie troops come for the day on Saturday. Older Brownie and Junior troops come up on Friday night, stay overnight in cabins or platform tents, and participate in Saturday activities. 5th grade troops and older scouts bring their own tents and camp at "Outpost". Overnight troops may choose to stay Saturday night as well. After a catered dinner on Friday, there is often a campfire, with songs and s'mores. Breakfast is served in the dining hall on Saturday morning to all participants, followed by a community flag and bridging ceremony, lunch (each troop brings their own), and various activities. Fees include a buffet dinner on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning, boating, and trained workshop leaders. All troops are asked to pitch in and help make this weekend a success. Troops sign up to help with the food service, run service projects and badge workshops, staff the registration desk, and lots of other essential jobs. | CGS Community Camping - SAVE THE DATES!!
